Jon - A solid performance from the India 2.  Decent food as always and good service, and the cost is probably pretty standard these days.  I went for a tandoori platter starter and Mixed Grill Mirchi Masala for main course, and both were good without being excellent.  As per usual, the company was delightful and the pre-meal pub was most enjoyable.

Neil - Still a good curry house but I suspect they've changed the chef as the food wasn't as tasty as last time. I had the mixed tandoori starter and chicken rogan main. Both were fresh and plentiful but tasted slightly bland, the sides were the same. Service was good and they reacted quickly once we got their attention. VFM was OK with the 25% discount, enjoyed my free lemonade at the end as well.

Jeff - Met at the Artillery Arms which features four or five Fuller's pump ales. Robin popped along too, proudly telling everyone how old he is. The India 2, currently our top restaurant, was much less busy than last time but still had a good vibe. The waiters were pleasant and we were happily offered a free round of liqueurs at the end. Poppadoms at £1.45 each seems crazy but at least there was no additional charge for pickles. I shared a mixed starter which was above average but not spectacular. Main of Lamb Korahi was again ok, but these days this dish never seems to come up sizzling. Overall the portions of main, sides and rice were quite generous. To sum up, the India 2 does everything quite well, but nothing really stands out. Will it remain top? I think to be worthy of this lofty spot, it needs to do more - for example the manager being more visible (as per Empress or Mehek).

Graeme - We met once again in The Artillery Arms, an old-fashioned London boozer. When I first arrived at the pub, it was very crowded with the Thursday's-the-new-Friday-straight-out-of-work brigade, but it quietened down a bit after that. The restaurant was much less full than on our last visit but it was still busy-ish. This was a very enjoyable meal with good quality food, prompt service in a nice setting at a very reasonable price (El Pres got 25% discount off the food by booking online). I had the Tandoori Platter followed by the South Indian Garlic Chilli Chicken - both were very good. While standing outside the pub, we were approached by a stout elderly gentleman. Thinking that he might be going to ask us for money, we were relieved to realise that it was our ex-colleague Robin! Joking aside, it was good to catch-up with him.

Dave - V good curry at the India 2 - Very efficient service and good chicken curry and prawn puri - no draft beer so made do with bottled kingfisher - the welcome unprompted offer of free liqueurs at the end was met with Neil requesting if he could have a lemonade. Overall solid performance by India 2 - at this rate the top 6 will read India 1,2,3,4,5,6.

Mark - The pre-meal pub was a bit more packed than usual but enjoyable as enlivened by the appearance of Robin! India 2 was not as packed as other years although still fairly full but this did not seem to delay the service although I'm not convinced I had the correct meal. All the rest were good so a relaxed evening out. The 'India' chain seems to be getting things right.
