John - Big portions, big price.

Jon - Being in Islington, it's no surprise that Zaffrani is both a bit trendy and a bit expensive, but it did not disappoint.  The Tandoori starter was good and the Lamb Dansak was one of the best I've ever had – the meat was so tender.  Age is starting to tell in the curry club as some members are resorting to drinks that grandma used to enjoy.  Whatever next??!!

Graeme - This was our second visit to Zaffrani. It is a very nice place and the service was good but, like last time, I thought the food didn't quite live up to expectations. It appears that I chose the same starter and main course as last time - Geelafi Sheek Kebabs and Karai Ki Chingri (King Prawns). Both were nice but nothing special. The manager gave me a complimentary Lassi with some brandy in it - it was like a giant Advocaat - lovely! The overall cost was, however, very high at £50 p/h.

Jeff - The Zaffrani provided us with an excellent evening in my opinion. Service was quick, almost too quick as we had barely sat down and they wanted to take our full order. The menu was a mixture of traditional classics and more uncommon dishes. I had a mixed veg starter, which was decent, and a lamb main that came in a shank style - Qurbani Ka Gosht. This was slightly spicier than I usually go for, but very enjoyable nonetheless, and plentiful with it. Altogether, a great experience. The manager was very interested in the website, and said he looks forward to seeing us again next year. I think he may be right.

Brian - I quite like the York as a meeting point, perhaps as I used to go there when based by Angel tube. The restaurant again performed well I thought. Prawn starter was lovely, and the monkfish main was a delight. Lemon rice, recommended by the waiter, made a nice change from Pillau, and went well with the fish. Excellent company made for an excellent evening.
