Dave - Was not expecting my chicken tikka roll to be rolled in a nan bread (doughy nan bread at that). Very ordinary curry - one to forget.

John - I liked this one. Good starter (prawn puree) and main dish (chicken jalfrezi) was hot but not too hot. Chickpeas great too. Only bad point was the warm bottle of Cobra. I still managed to drink more of my beer than Griff.

Graeme - Overall, it was no better than OK. The pilau rice appeared to be the same as the boiled rice but with a few fluorescent green grains thrown in. Had to run the gauntlet past the people in the window seats of the restaurant behind to go to the toilet. My VFM mark of 5 is based on the discounted price we paid (20% off) - it would have been a poor deal at the full price.

Mark - The lure a 20% discount meant that we were enticed into an 'off Brick Lane" production. Definitely more of a cafe then a restaurant. Starter was burnt and the beer was warm. Generous portions and cheap price saved it from being critically savaged. Next door had nice view of the loo!

Richard - 2 major minuses: food very slow to appear (starter and main), and warm beer. Ambience quiet and dull- it was a small place and lacked something that could lift the atmosphere. Food was undistinguished, although reasonably priced.

Neil - Maybe I chose the good dishes but my food was probably the best so far. Enjoyed the personal escort to the loos but not the audience & applause. Brilliant conversation about compiler design at the altar. Did anyone notice Village People (the builder and the motorcyclist) on the next table?

Robin - Mediocre and comparatively pricey. Best feature was the interesting (open) door halfway up the wall of the adjacent establishment affording their customers panoramic views over Cafe Raj's ablution facilities.

Darryl - Conditional 6 for 'VFM' field as 20% was appreciated. Music was strange mix of East meets West. My beer was cold and the main was very good, generous portions for main. Rice was dry.
