It only seems like yesterday since we started on our journey (mind you, that's probably due to all the alcohol we consumed along the way). In fact, it's been 8 1/2 years, 48 different restaurants, 752 member appearances, and we have spent something in the region of £19,000. The membership of the Club has grown from 4 to 12.

Two restaurants stand out from this period:

Sheba - 6 visits and once a great favourite. Its rise and fall epitomises the recent history of Brick Lane. Good quality food at cheap prices gave way to over-competition and a disappointing loss of quality.

Herb & Spice - 7 visits and a consistent top performer. This tiny restaurant had a bit of a novelty feel with its hippy waiter and vicious toilet door but it delivered consistently over the years. How will it fare in the future? Has its recent expansion taken away some of its charm?

To celebrate reaching our century, we decided to go 'up West'. We met in the Glasshouse Stores, Brewer St, Soho (a good find) and ate at Veeraswamy, Regents Street (a bit disappointing). It was, however, an enjoyable and memorable evening and our milestone was duly celebrated. Click to read our report for Veeraswamy and see our photos below.

Here's to the next 100!

Here are Jon's, Richard's and Robin's photos from the evening ...
